Recipes from Grandma - A recipe blog that contains old recipes collected over
the last 40 years - some from my grandmother, some from my mother-in-law, some from estate sales, and some just sounded too
good to throw away! Most are fast and easy to make!
Jeanne writes:
This is the best cheesecake I have ever tasted! I have been making this
recipe since the late 1970s. It was always the favorite choice for birthdays - even for my kids!
Crust:
Mix together 1-1/4 cups graham crackers, 1/2 cup melted butter, 3 tablespoons sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Pat this mixture into the
bottom of a 9 inch spring form pan that has been sprayed with a cooking spray.
Filling:
Beat 24 ounces of cream cheese and 5 eggs until creamy. Gradually add mixture of 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon
vanilla. Pour on top of crust, and bake for 50 minutes at 325 degrees.
Cool for 20 minutes.
Topping:
Mix 16 ounces sour cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 6 tablespoons sugar. Pour on cooled cake.
Bake 10 minutes at 325 degrees. Refrigerate.
This tastes great plain or with fresh strawberries or raspberries.

This section had previously been called FlyLady........but I think I've said about as much as I can about the FlyLady program! I've
renamed it Health & Happiness. Every edition I'll be adding a link or blurb about something that pertains to health & happiness!
This edition I am introducing you to -
Jillian Michaels. You might already know her as TV's toughest trainer from The Biggest Loser. A new season of Loser begins 9/16/08 on NBC.
Husbands & Wives VS. Parents & their Adult Children. Jillian's team is Parent/Child. I think that might prove to be the most difficult. I
know I have a whole different attitude with my mom that I do with The Husband --yes, I revert back into a 14 year old!!! (but a bossy 14 year old with no fear
of punishment!!!)
I am currently enjoying (can you enjoy exercise?) Jillian's Shred DVD. Every Tues/Thurs. Yes, it does shred you! I've rearranged
2 pant sizes. I say rearrange since I have only lost about 5lbs. This is not an easy video....but it DOES work. I am still only on the easy
workout of Level 1. There are 3 levels. I'll have this dvd forever! (which is a good thing --no getting bored for a long time) If you asked me
4 months ago to do 2 minutes of jumping jacks, 12 pushups, and 1 minutes worth of crunches, I would have laughed and laughed and laughed. But now I'm
doing it--seriously....me, doing exercise! 20 minutes ....twice a week ........but I feel GREAT after I'm done (sweaty, stinky, tired.....but great!)
